The All Pakistan Petrol Pumps Owners Association and Petroleum Dealers Associations have announced the postponement of their planned nationwide strike following successful negotiations with the federal government.
Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik expressed gratitude to the All Pakistan Petrol Pumps Owners Association and other dealers’ associations for their cooperation in resolving the issue through dialogue. He emphasized that the government understands the concerns of both the petroleum sector and the public.
Malik noted that the regional situation since February 28 has raised concerns, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is fully aware of the challenges facing citizens as tensions in the region continue to rise.
The minister also highlighted the government’s efforts to support consumers, mentioning that subsidies worth billions of rupees have already been provided. A more effective targeted subsidy mechanism has been developed with the cooperation of oil refineries and petroleum companies to ensure assistance reaches those who need it most.
The decision to postpone the strike is a relief for motorists and businesses across Pakistan, preventing potential disruptions to fuel supplies and transportation services.
