In observance of World Brain Day 2026, the Neurology Awareness and Research Foundation (NARF), in partnership with the Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) Karachi and Alkhidmat, hosted a series of free brain health camps across various locations in Karachi. This initiative aimed to enhance public awareness and provide essential neurological healthcare services.
The global theme for this year, “Brain Health Access for All,” underscores the necessity of equitable access to quality neurological care. During the camps, citizens received comprehensive neurological consultations, medical examinations by specialist neurologists, essential diagnostic tests, and free medications. The goal was to promote early diagnosis, effective treatment, and heightened awareness of neurological disorders.
Patients with a variety of neurological conditions, including epilepsy, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, neuropathic pain, severe headaches and migraines, back and neck pain, muscle and nerve disorders, memory impairment, and dementia, were treated at no cost. Healthcare professionals also provided education on disease prevention, early diagnosis, and the significance of timely medical intervention.
The camps were held at multiple venues across Karachi, including Neuro Clinic & Stroke Care in DHA Phase II, Brain & Heart Clinic in Faran Gardens, Karachi Institute of Neurological Diseases and Rehabilitation in Scheme 33, Alkhidmat Hospital in Shah Faisal Colony, and Alkhidmat Abdul Salam 1 in Gulzar-e-Hijri. Many residents benefited from these free healthcare services.
NARF officials and neurologists emphasized that neurological disorders are leading causes of disability worldwide. They urged individuals not to overlook symptoms related to stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, migraines, and other neurological conditions, advising prompt medical attention to avert serious complications.
NARF remains committed to ongoing awareness campaigns, free medical camps, educational initiatives, and community welfare projects to promote brain and neurological health throughout Pakistan.
