Karachi: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Karachi has conducted a raid on a call centre in Gulistan-e-Jauhar near Safoora Chowrangi, Karachi, where an alleged scam operation targeting foreign nationals was reportedly being carried out.
According to the NCCIA Karachi, the suspects allegedly impersonated officials of foreign banks and fraudulently obtained victims personal and financial information, including debit and credit card details. The information was allegedly used for fraudulent activities.
During the operation, the two partners of the call centre, including Muhammad Laiq, along with Muhammad Fazil and other agents, were arrested. Several laptops and mobile phones allegedly used in the suspected scam operation were also recovered from the premises.
A case, FIR No. 74/26, has been registered under Sections 3/4/13/14/16/26 of PECA 2025, read with Sections 109/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
