Modern technology has the potential to transform libraries into smarter knowledge hubs. Libraries are vital for education, research, and lifelong learning. As technology reshapes how knowledge is accessed and shared, enhancing libraries with modern digital solutions is essential.
This message was highlighted during a seminar organized by the Dr. Jamil Jalibi Research Library, where educators, researchers, librarians, media professionals, publishers, and technology experts discussed how digital innovation can improve access to books and research resources in educational and academic institutions.
The event took place at the Nasim Shaheen Auditorium, University of Karachi, featuring over 25 distinguished speakers who shared valuable insights and practical experiences. Dr. Rais Ahmed Samdani chaired the session, with distinguished guests including Dr. Tauseef Ahmed Khan and Dr. Muhammad Yousuf Ali.
Supervised by Ms. Gulnaz Mahmood, the seminar concluded with a commitment to publish a comprehensive document containing the recommendations and expert opinions presented during the discussion. This is an important step toward strengthening Pakistan’s academic and library ecosystem in the digital age. Mr. Majeed Rahmani performed the duties of moderator with grace.
