Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has launched its Train the Teacher Program Series, a new initiative aimed at strengthening the connection between academia and Pakistans capital market.
The inaugural session was held in collaboration with the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) and was led by Mr. Jawad H. Hashmi, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of PSX. The session provided faculty members with practical insights into financial markets, capital market operations, and industry practices.
The program is designed to equip teachers with updated, market-oriented knowledge that they can subsequently share with their students. By bringing academic faculty closer to the practical realities of financial markets, PSX seeks to help develop a better-informed generation of students and future professionals.
The initiative reflects PSXs broader commitment to promoting financial literacy, investor education, and capacity building within academic institutions. Through engagement with universities and educational institutions across Pakistan, the exchange aims to create greater awareness of capital markets and their role in the country’s economy.
The Train the Teacher series is expected to provide faculty members with valuable exposure to the functioning of financial markets, investment concepts, and industry practices, enabling them to incorporate practical perspectives into classroom learning.
PSXs initiative highlights the importance of collaboration between the capital market and academia in preparing students for an increasingly finance-driven economy and encouraging responsible participation in the investment ecosystem.
