Five-Day Scooty Training Course for Women Journalists Concludes Successfully

A five-day scooty training course organized by the Karachi Press Club (KPC) for women journalists has successfully concluded, marking an important step toward promoting mobility, confidence and empowerment among women working in the media.

The training, held from August 17 to 21, included both practical riding sessions and a written test. On the first day, participants were taught basic balance through bicycle exercises, while practical scooty training began from the second day.

The final day at the Shahid Hayat Traffic Training Institute in Saeedabad was described by participants as more than just an examination. It represented a new milestone in confidence and independence. The assessment included practical scooty riding as well as a written test.

Participants who had initially been nervous about maintaining balance were able, by the final day, to ride the scooty independently, control it and maintain their balance.

The success of the training was attributed to the dedication and encouragement of Training Head Mahmood Butt and his entire team. Male and female trainers and staff were particularly appreciated for their patience, cooperation and support despite the intense summer heat.

According to participants, the trainers repeatedly assisted them during practice sessionsholding the scooty, running alongside them and helping prevent falls. Their role extended beyond teaching riding skills and helped participants develop greater self-confidence.

Under the supervision of Mahmood Butt, the training staff maintained a respectful, supportive and encouraging environment. His humor and light-hearted remarks also helped make the demanding training experience more enjoyable for the participants.

The Karachi Press Club’s initiative has been widely appreciated as a positive step toward empowering women journalists and improving their mobility.

For the participating women, the course was not simply about learning to ride a scooty. It was a journey toward greater freedom, self-confidence and the ability to travel independently to their professional destinations.
