Allama Iqbal Open University Karachi Region: A Hub of Distance Learning

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Regional Campus Karachi has been serving students since its establishment in 1976. The campus, which shifted to its own building in 2003, plays a crucial role in providing quality distance education to students across Karachis seven districts, covering an area of 3,780 km.

Currently, the Karachi region has eight study centers (as of Autumn 2021) and 593 registered tutors to facilitate students. With an enrollment of 7,629 students in the Spring 2022 semester and 1,208 registered tutors, the campus is actively catering to the growing demand for flexible and accessible education. Additionally, ten examination centers operate under the regional campus to ensure smooth academic assessments.

The Karachi campus offers several facilities, including a functional helpdesk, a well-equipped library, a computer lab, an auditorium, and e-classrooms. It also provides comprehensive IT support to students, ensuring they receive a seamless learning experience.

The AIOU Karachi Regional Campus continues to play a vital role in promoting education, enabling students from diverse backgrounds to pursue higher studies through its distance learning programs.
