Karachi, April 21, 2025 Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated the April round of National Immunization Days (NIDs) on Monday, reaffirming the provincial governments unwavering commitment to eradicating polio and protecting the health of children across the province.
The official launch of the week-long campaign, scheduled from April 21 to 28, took place at the Chief Ministers House in Karachi, where CM Murad Ali Shah personally administered polio drops to children in a symbolic gesture to kickstart the initiative.

This campaign reflects our dedication to a polio-free Sindh. We will continue to support all measures necessary to protect our childrens future, CM Shah stated.
The April NIDs will see thousands of frontline workers visiting households across Sindh to immunize millions of children under the age of five. Health authorities are also expected to set up vaccination points at key locations including hospitals, bus terminals, and markets to ensure maximum outreach.
Despite significant progress in recent years, pockets of resistance and operational challenges continue to hinder complete eradication of the virus. The Government of Sindh remains committed to overcoming these hurdles through sustained public awareness and robust vaccination drives.
