On the directives of Sindh Minister for Local Government, Saeed Ghani, the Director General of Karachi Development Authority (KDA), Altaf Gohar Memon, officially inaugurated the digital document scanning system in the Recovery Department of KDA.
The department has now been fully computerized, and a new phase has begun to scan applicants’ files and other official documents. Each file will be linked with a QR code, allowing for easy and efficient record checking.
Expressing his satisfaction with the newly implemented digital system, DG Altaf Gohar Memon stated that the move is expected to significantly reduce illegal activitiesby as much as 99 percentand enhance transparency across the department.
In a further push for modernization, he also issued directives to ensure that other departments, particularly the Land Department, are 100% computerized at the earliest. The goal is to improve revenue generation and reduce the financial challenges facing the organization.
To recognize exceptional performance, DG KDA presented shields and appreciation certificates to the officers and staff of the Recovery Department.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by key officials including Senior Director Land Kamal Ahmed Siddiqui, KDA Secretary Arshad Khan, Director Finance Shakeel Siddiqui, Director IT Nasir Khan, Additional Director Recovery Arif Shah, Director Master Plan Sheikh Fareed, and KDA spokesperson Akram Sattar, among others.
