KARACHI: Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani held a high-level consultative meeting in Karachi with key leaders and representatives of the All Pakistan Exporters Associations to discuss tax policy, recent budgetary relief measures and challenges confronting the export sector.
During the meeting, Minister Kayani briefed exporters on the governments tax policy, particularly the tax relief measures announced in the recent federal budget. He also listened to concerns raised by representatives of the export industry and discussed possible measures to address tax-related and operational issues.
The Minister of State reiterated the governments commitment to facilitating trade, streamlining the tax framework and creating a more conducive environment for exporters. He also briefed participants about the Export Facilitation Committees notified by the government following the budget.
According to the minister, the committees have been established to facilitate exporters, help resolve issues raised by the business community, provide an effective mechanism for the amicable resolution of disputes and ensure that exporters are not subjected to unnecessary harassment by tax officials.
Kayani reaffirmed the governments resolve to prioritize export-oriented industrial growth and assured industry stakeholders of continued policy support and open channels of communication. He emphasized the importance of regular engagement between the government and the export sector to identify practical solutions and improve Pakistans export performance.
Representatives of the export industry welcomed the dialogue and presented practical recommendations aimed at resolving tax-related operational matters and accelerating export growth. They appreciated Minister Bilal Azhar Kayanis continued efforts to address industry concerns, facilitate exporters and promote an environment supportive of export-led economic growth.
The meeting brought together prominent business leaders and senior representatives from major national trade bodies, reflecting broad participation from Pakistans textile, leather, engineering, fisheries, agriculture, food, surgical, sports goods and other export-oriented sectors.

The consultative session underscored the governments focus on strengthening engagement with the export community and supporting export-oriented industries as part of broader efforts to enhance Pakistans trade and economic performance.
