DIG Traffic Karachi Chairs Key Meeting on E-Ticketing Awareness and Traffic System Reforms

A high-level meeting was held at the office of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Karachi to discuss measures aimed at improving the overall traffic management system and promoting awareness regarding the upcoming E-ticketing initiative.

The meeting was chaired by DIG Traffic Karachi Pir Muhammad Shah and attended by all Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) of the Traffic Police, DSP Operations/Security Saeed Ahmed, DSP Traffic Admin Kashif Nadeem, Accident Branch In-charge Sub-Inspector Rai Akmal, along with representatives from Xtreme Mobile App, including its head Mr. Ameem, advertising expert Salman Mansoor, and delegates from FM 88.6 and Sindh Police Media Wing.

The primary objective of the session was to strategize the implementation and publicity of the new E-ticketing system and initiate a public awareness campaign to inform citizens about its features and benefits.

DIG Traffic Karachi announced the launch of a state-of-the-art mobile application tailored to analyze traffic accidents, designed in line with modern technological standards. Mr. Ameem provided a detailed briefing on the apps features and functionality. He further stated that after consultation with the team from NED University Karachi, the app would be officially launched.

In a move to enhance citizen support and engagement, DIG Traffic Karachi also revealed that dedicated Complaint Cells will be established in all traffic districts. These centers will be staffed by experienced officers to promptly address public grievances related to traffic and traffic police services. Citizens will also be able to track the status of their complaints online.

The DIG further emphasized the legal requirement of displaying standardized number plates issued by the Excise Department and urged citizens to ensure their vehicle registrations are accurate and in their own names. Registration and verification services can be availed from any Excise & Taxation Office, NADRA center, or E-Sahulat outlet.

Highlighting the importance of public outreach, the DIG instructed the advertising firm, FM 88.6 Radio Sindh Police, and all social media platforms to play an active role in promoting the E-ticketing system and educating the public on traffic laws and regulations.

These initiatives are being implemented to safeguard the lives and property of our citizens and to establish a better, safer, and more organized traffic system in Karachi, the DIG concluded.
