Karachi:Leading healthcare professionals gathered at the Karachi Press Club to stress the critical need for improved patient safety and healthcare quality in Pakistan. The press conference featuredProf. Tahir Saghir, Executive Director of NICVD & Vice President Sindh Chapter of the Healthcare Quality & Safety Association of Pakistan (HQSAP), along withDr. Zakiudin Ahmed(Chairman of Patient Safety) andAsadullah Khan(Executive Director, Riphah International University).
The speakers highlighted the urgent need for stronger patient safety measures in hospitals and clinics, calling for healthcare professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders to take proactive steps in ensuring better medical care. They also announced the8th International Conference on Patient Safety (ICPS) 2025, which will serve as a platform for knowledge-sharing and collaboration on global best practices in healthcare quality.
The experts urged the medical community to join the movement for safer healthcare, emphasizing that improving patient safety can save lives and enhance public trust in the healthcare system.
