Born in pre-partition India in the historic city of Kota, Rajasthan, Taj Haider migrated to Pakistan and became a prominent voice of wisdom, resistance, and progressive thought. He was not only a prolific story writer and academic but also played a pivotal role during the era of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto by contributing several policy papers and research documents that shaped the party’s ideological foundations.
Haider’s unmatched talent extended to television, where his screenwriting for PTV dramas gained widespread acclaim. His narratives often reflected deep philosophical insight and a strong stand against injustice.
Colleagues, political leaders, and admirers across Pakistan are paying tribute to the man often regarded as a beacon of intellect and integrity. “With his passing, we have lost a guiding light of the Bhutto era, a voice of resistance, and a champion of rational thought,” said a senior PPP representative.
Senator Taj Haider’s contributions to literature, politics, and academia will remain a lasting legacy for future generations.
