Women Media Center Pakistan (WMC), with support from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), successfully hosted the One-Day Media Conference titled “Empowering Women Journalists: Leadership, Safety & Innovation” in Karachi.
The conference convened leading female journalists from Karachi, academics, policymakers, and media professionals to address critical issues impacting the future of journalism. Key topics included women’s leadership, digital safety, ethical journalism, artificial intelligence (AI), misinformation, and innovation within the media industry.
The event featured a keynote address by Chief Guest Sharmila Farooqui, Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, alongside insightful sessions from:

The discussions highlighted the necessity of enhancing women’s participation in journalism, expanding leadership opportunities, strengthening digital safety, combating misinformation, embracing responsible innovation, and fostering a more inclusive, resilient, and equitable media landscape.
