Karachi: The office of the Assistant Commissioner Liaqatabad carried out an anti-encroachment operation against an illicit birds market in Shareefabad on Sunday.
The drive was aimed at removing unauthorized stalls and structures that had been set up along the streets, causing obstruction to traffic and inconvenience for residents and pedestrians. Officials said the action was taken following complaints from the public regarding congestion, hygiene issues, and unlawful occupation of public space.
During the operation, the enforcement team removed temporary sheds, confiscated materials, and warned vendors against re-establishing illegal setups. Authorities reiterated that no one would be allowed to occupy government land or footpaths without permission.
The administration further stated that such operations would continue to ensure smooth flow of traffic and to maintain order in the area. Residents appreciated the initiative and urged officials to conduct regular checks to prevent the return of encroachments.
