Karachi: A high-level luncheon meeting was held at ABAD House by the Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) with Director Generals of the National Accountability Bureau from Rawalpindi and Karachi to deliberate on the growing issue of illegal land encroachments faced by ABAD members.

The meeting brought together DG NAB Rawalpindi Waqar Ahmed Chauhan and DG NAB Karachi Shakeel Ahmed Durrani with the leadership of the real estate body and stakeholders from the development sector.

The session was chaired by ABAD Chairman Mohammed Hassan Bakshi. Among those present were Senior Vice Chairman Syed Afzal Hameed, Vice Chairman Tariq Aziz, Chairman Southern Region Ahmed Owais Thanvi, former Chairman Mohsin Sheikhani, Junaid Ashraf Taloo, ABAD members, and media representatives.

Participants discussed complaints from builders and developers regarding unlawful occupation of land, procedural hurdles, and the need for stronger institutional coordination. The NAB officials assured attendees of continued engagement and emphasized the importance of lawful practices, transparency, and facilitation of genuine investors.

ABAD representatives stressed that protecting property rights and ensuring clear titles are essential for restoring investor confidence and sustaining growth in the real estate sector. Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation to address grievances and support legal ownership while discouraging illegal encroachments.

The luncheon concluded with a commitment to maintain dialogue between regulators and industry stakeholders to promote accountability and safeguard investments in Karachi and beyond.
