A deeply disturbing incident has sparked public outrage and a police investigation in Karachi, after Salman Farooqi, the CEO of Bionic Films, was caught on video brutally assaulting a motorcyclist in the citys upscale DHA Phase 6 (Ittehad Commercial area).
According to eyewitness reports and viral footage, the altercation began with a minor road accident involving Farooqis vehicle and a motorbike. Despite allegedly being at fault, Farooqi dragged the motorcyclist into his car and physically assaulted him, all while the young mans sister pleaded tearfully for mercy, begging him to stop.

The video shows a visibly shaken girl believed to be the victims sister crying, folding her hands, and repeatedly apologizing to Farooqi in desperation. However, her pleas went unheard. Farooqi continued his attack, issuing threats and abusing his position of power, reportedly claiming to be a government officer.
Public Reaction: This Is Not Just an Accident
The incident has triggered widespread condemnation across social media, with many calling it a shameful abuse of privilege, power, and status. Critics have highlighted the irony of Farooqis association with a media house known for producing progressive content, including narratives around human rights and social justice.
Tomorrow hell return to producing content on gender rights and oppression. But today, he stood exposed cruel, violent, and shameless, said one social media user.
Police Action Underway
Following intense public pressure, Karachi Police launched a series of raids to apprehend Farooqi. According to SSP South, a joint team including SHO Darakhshan and SHO Gizri conducted a raid on the Bionic Films office, which was found locked and abandoned. Authorities believe Farooqi may have fled the city to avoid arrest.
We have identified the suspect and are conducting raids at multiple locations to arrest him, said Senior Police Official.
Police also confirmed that, as of now, no formal complaint has been filed by the victim or his family, who remain untraceable. However, the investigation continues, and authorities are appealing to the public and the victim’s family to come forward.
A Larger Question: What Will We Tolerate?
While law enforcement tracks the accused, many are asking deeper societal questions:
-
Why do some individuals feel they can act with impunity?
-
Why does violence go unchecked until it becomes viral?
This is not politics. This is not about celebrity. Its about human decency, and what happens when we allow wealth and position to silence justice, read one viral post.
A Reminder of Reality
What happened in DHA Karachi is more than a violent incident, it’s a mirror to our society, reflecting how quickly power can overpower justice, and how easily dignity is lost when those responsible feel untouchable.
As one emotional post summed it up:
If that boy was your son, and that girl was your sister, would this still be just an incident?
Justice must not be selective. And it must not be delayed.
