In a high-level meeting chaired by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the Pakistani government has decided to take strict measures against citizens deported from foreign countries. According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Interior on Saturday, it was decided that individuals returning to Pakistan after being deported will face First Information Reports (FIRs) and cancellation of their passports.
The meeting concluded that such individuals will also be placed on the Passport Control List for a period of five years, effectively restricting their ability to obtain travel documents during that time.
Additionally, the Interior Ministry announced the formation of a committee under the leadership of the Interior Secretary. The committee has been tasked with reviewing and strengthening passport regulations to prevent misuse and enhance national security.
These steps come as part of a broader government initiative to ensure accountability and regulate international travel in accordance with Pakistani laws.
