Karachi: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Tuesday chaired an important meeting of the Sindh Information Department to review measures aimed at facilitating media professionals and improving the flow of official information.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Information Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon, Director General Information Moez Pirzada, Director Films Hizbullah Memon, Deputy Director Information Sarang Latif Chandio, along with other senior officials.
Participants discussed in detail matters relating to the provision of better facilities for journalists, timely dissemination of information, and stronger institutional coordination between the government and media organizations.
The forum also reviewed ongoing and proposed projects of the department, promotion of digital media, and the use of modern communication channels for wider and quicker outreach of government initiatives. Patronage of film and documentary projects and steps to ensure transparent public access to government policies also came under consideration.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharjeel Inam Memon said the provincial government fully understands the challenges faced by journalists and media institutions and is taking practical steps to resolve them.
He stressed that a free, responsible and well-informed media serves as the foundation of democracy. The minister added that the Sindh government aims to further strengthen trust-based relations with the media to ensure accurate and timely information reaches the public.
