Karachi: In a landmark event for Pakistan’s academic and technological landscape, the Computer Science Departments of Karachi University and DHA Suffa University, with support from the Sindh Higher Education Commission (SHEC), the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), and COMSTECH, successfully hosted the 3rd International Conference on Information Science & Communication Technology (ICISCT 2025).

The conference brought together a distinguished assembly of academics, researchers, industry leaders, and students from across the globe to discuss transformative developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and next-generation communication technologies. The event served as a platform for fostering global dialogue on the future of information sciences and their far-reaching societal impacts.

The opening session was led by Dr. M. Sadiq Ali Khan, Chair of the Conference and Chairman of the Computer Science Department at Karachi University. Dr. Khan reflected on the success of last year’s conference, which laid the groundwork for this years enhanced collaboration. In his address, he emphasized the transformative role of AI and ML in reshaping key industries such as healthcare, finance, and education, while urging caution on ethical AI deployment and data privacy challenges.

The conference’s Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Samreen Hussain (SI, TI), Vice Chancellor of Dawood University and a member of HEC, SHEC, and PEC, highlighted the vital role of communication, idea exchange, and international collaboration in addressing global challenges. She underlined how communication technologies can bridge gaps in critical areas such as education, healthcare, and disaster response, encouraging attendees to utilize these innovations for meaningful societal progress.

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saeed Minhas (Retd.), Vice Chancellor of DHA Suffa University, delivered the Patron’s Address, praising the conference as a crucial platform for uniting global academia. He urged young researchers and students to actively engage with cutting-edge research and contribute to the growing tech ecosystem in Pakistan.

ICISCT 2025 proved to be more than a scholarly gatheringit was a celebration of innovation, international cooperation, and the shared pursuit of technological excellence.
