Karachi: The Karachi Bar Association (KBA) has strongly condemned the hijacking of the Jaffar Express train in Balochistan by armed militants. In an official statement, KBA denounced the heinous act, calling it an assault on fundamental principles of humanity and the rule of law.
The hijacking incident involved the use of explosives and firearms against innocent civilians, including women and children. The KBA extended its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and expressed solidarity with those affected by the tragedy. The association also commended the swift and courageous response of Pakistani security forces in their efforts to rescue hostages and neutralize the attackers.
Highlighting the ongoing security challenges in Balochistan, the KBA emphasized that the region continues to be afflicted by insurgency and violence. The association reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to promoting peace, justice, and the rule of law. It also urged all stakeholders to work collaboratively to ensure the safety and security of citizens across Pakistan.
The statement was issued by KBA President Amir Nawaz Warraich and was also forwarded to key government officials, including the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, and the Inspector General of Police, Balochistan.
The KBA reiterated its call for stronger measures to address security threats in the region and to protect civilians from acts of terrorism.
