Karachi A video of a police officer misbehaving with a fruit vendor on Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan recently went viral, sparking public outrage. In response, SSP Central Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqui took swift action, ensuring accountability to the affected vendor.
As part of his efforts to address the situation, SSP Central invited the fruit vendor to his office, where he personally inquired about the incident and assured him of justice. In a symbolic gesture of goodwill, he also presented the vendor with a bouquet of flowers.
SSP Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqui emphasized that the misconduct was an individual act and does not reflect the entire police force. He reassured the vendor, stating, “Sindh Police stands with you.”
Following the viral incident, SSP Central suspended the involved officers and, after an inquiry, dismissed Constable Zafar from service for his unprofessional behavior. The police spokesperson confirmed that disciplinary action has been taken to uphold the force’s integrity.
