KARACHI A high-level meeting was held today, September 23, 2026, between the leadership of the Karachi Tax Bar Association (KTBA) and senior officials of Regional Tax Office-I (RTO-I) to discuss tax compliance and resolve pressing issues faced by tax practitioners.
The delegation, led by KTBA President Mr. Sham Ansari and General Secretary Mr. Mehmood Bikiya, met with Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue (CCIR), RTO-I, to present key matters and operational concerns raised by bar members.
During the session, the Chief Commissioner emphasized the critical need to maximize voluntary compliance by encouraging taxpayers to submit their income tax returns on time. Acknowledging the role of tax professionals as bridge-builders between the business community and the revenue authority, the CCIR assured the KTBA leadership of RTO-I’s full support. He reaffirmed that his office would actively address practitioners’ concerns and extend maximum facilitation to streamline administrative procedures.
Both sides agreed to maintain open channels of communication to ensure smooth filing processes and foster a collaborative tax administration environment.
