KARACHI: The Indus Institute for AI & Digital Policy (IIADP) led a high-level delegation in a strategic meeting with Sindh Minister for Information Technology Ali Rashid to strengthen PakistanTrkiye cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, digital health, innovation, and technology-driven economic development.
The delegation was headed by Hamza Ali Chaudhry, Executive Director of IIADP, and included Dr. Kemal Aydın and Dr. Raza Zaidi, Deputy Director of IIADP.
During the meeting, participants discussed establishing long-term institutional partnerships between Pakistan and Trkiye in emerging technologies, digital governance, AI policy, innovation ecosystems, research collaboration, investment promotion, and capacity building.
Among the major proposals reviewed were collaboration with the İbn-i Sina Institute, the establishment of the D-8 AI & Digital Health Forum, and the proposed KarachiKastamonu Sister City Project. The initiative aims to strengthen cooperation in technology, higher education, healthcare, innovation, cultural exchange, and sustainable urban development between the two regions.
The participants also explored opportunities for knowledge exchange, joint research programmes, innovation partnerships, and foreign direct investment (FDI) to accelerate Sindh’s digital transformation and enhance regional cooperation.
Dr. Noman joined the meeting virtually via Zoom and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to supporting international academic partnerships, collaborative research, innovation, and technology commercialization initiatives.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to building sustainable institutional linkages between Pakistan and Trkiye through collaborative initiatives that leverage artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and innovation to promote inclusive economic growth and regional development.
The engagement highlights IIADP’s expanding role in facilitating international policy dialogue and strategic partnerships by connecting government, academia, industry, and global institutions to advance the future of AI and digital governance.
