DG KDA Conducts Surprise Visit to Land and IT Departments Over Public Complaints

Karachi: Following continuous complaints from citizens regarding the Land and IT Departments, Director General of Karachi Development Authority (KDA), Asif Jan Siddiqui, paid an emergency visit to the Land Department located on the third floor of the Civic Centre head office.

During the visit, the DG issued strict directives to Director Land Atif Hussain Naqvi, instructing that immediate measures be taken to resolve public grievances on an urgent basis. He warned that if further complaints are received, departmental action would be initiated against the concerned officers.

Later, the DG visited the IT Department, where he directed Director IT Abbas Ali to ensure prompt completion of pending cases and to remove unnecessary hurdles faced by citizens. He emphasized that delays in public service would not be tolerated.

The Director General also inspected the record room and ordered improvements to ensure complete safety and preservation of official records. He directed officials to accelerate the computerization process to secure all records and eliminate obstacles hindering digitalization.

Addressing administrative matters, the DG instructed Secretary KDA Arshad Khan to ensure that during the holy month of Ramadan, office timings remain from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and that all KDA departments strictly close after official hours.

Asif Jan Siddiqui further stressed the need to explore new revenue streams to strengthen the financial stability of the authority. He reiterated that public issues must be identified and resolved on an emergency basis, adding that KDA remains committed to providing essential facilities to the citizens of Karachi.

On the occasion, Member Administration Shakeel Siddiqui, Senior Director Land Jameel Ahmed, Director DPUD Mir Rafiq Jokhio, Chief Security Officer Major (R) Imran Muhammad Khan, and other senior officials were also present.
