NCRC Delegation Meets Sindh Judicial Academy to Strengthen Minority Rights Training

KARACHI: A delegation from the National Commission on the Rights of Child (NCRC), accompanied by minority representatives, visited the Sindh Judicial Academy (SJA) to discuss enhancing judicial training on minority family laws. The delegation was led by Mr. Pirbhu Lal Satiani and included prominent members such as Mr. Jai Parkash (Editor, Ibrat News), Mr. Chandan Malhi (NCHR), Ms. Pushpa Kumari (Member, HRCP), and Mr. Junaid Ahmed (Member, NLD).

During the meeting, the delegation met with Mr. Naveed Ahmed Soomro, Senior Faculty Member at SJA, to explore ways to improve training for judges, lawyers, and police officers regarding Hindu and Christian family laws, covering aspects such as marriage, divorce, and inheritance.

The initiative aims to strengthen the protection of minority rights, promote legal awareness, and ensure access to justice for marginalized communities. The meeting also emphasized capacity building within the judiciary to enhance understanding and implementation of family laws affecting minorities.

This collaboration reflects ongoing efforts by Pakistans legal and human rights institutions, including NCRC, HRCP, NCHR, and SJA, to uphold the rule of law and protect the rights of children and minority communities.
