Karachi May 9, 2025:The Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases (KIHD), operating under the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), has received heartfelt appreciation from citizens for its exceptional emergency care and dedicated medical staff.
Shakil Khan, a resident of Karachi and senior member of Karachi Arts Council, publicly shared a moving account of how the medical team at KIHD saved his mothers life during a critical health emergency. Last Thursday, his younger brother Nadeem Khan rushed their ailing mother to KIHDs emergency ward after she experienced severe breathing difficulties. Upon arrival, she was immediately admitted and placed under intensive care in Blue Code 2 Ward.
Khan praised the prompt response and professionalism of the entire medical team, especially Dr. Inam Danish and Dr. Afshan Kaleem, along with the paramedical staff. On Friday afternoon, his mother’s condition deteriorated further, but thanks to the swift intervention and commitment of the attending lady doctor and staff, she was stabilized and placed on a ventilator in the ICU.
For six days, the patient remained in critical care, where she received round-the-clock attention and compassionate treatment. Khan expressed his and his familys deepest gratitude to the KIHD team, calling their work a shining example of medical excellence and human kindness.
He also thanked Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab for supporting public health institutions like KIHD and requested the restoration of a foundation plaque honoring former mayor Naimatullah Khan, which he claimed had been covered.
This hospital is serving the underprivileged with great dedication, Khan stated. Its staff deserve both recognition and financial incentives for their hard work under challenging conditions.
The Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases continues to be a beacon of hope for many, providing essential cardiac care to the city’s residents.
