Pro AI Global celebrated Indus AI Week 2026, a nationwide initiative announced by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, bringing together youth, professionals, women in technology, and persons with disabilities (PWDs) on a unified and inclusive platform.
The event reflected the vision of Ammara Aftab, founder of Pro AI Global, who has consistently advocated equal access, representation, and leadership opportunities in artificial intelligence. Organizers described the gathering as a milestone for Pakistans AI ecosystem, particularly because it marked the first structured inclusion of PWDs within a national AI engagement framework.
As part of the initiative, Pro AI Global announced the establishment of a dedicated PWD Committee, to be chaired by Sahil. The move aims to ensure long-term accessibility, participation, and policy input from differently-abled communities while further strengthening programs designed to elevate womens leadership and visibility in AI.
The vision behind Indus AI Week is aligned with the UNESCO AI Ethics Framework and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing responsible, transparent, and equitable development of emerging technologies. It also complements Pakistans National AI Policy objectives by encouraging proactive engagement in education, innovation, and access.

Organizers credited the success of the week to the collaboration of founding members, including Faraz Hussain, Omer Khan, Abdul Qadir, Sarwat Naseem, Mahjabeen Alvina, Jamil Ur Rehman, and Azam Moghal.
