The Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) had the honor of hosting a high-level strategic meeting with Prof. Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari, Vice Chancellor of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science & Technology (FUUAST), on Thursday.
The session focused on the theme: Empowering FUUAST: Bridging Industry-Academia Gaps, Fostering Innovation, and Supporting Sustainable Development Initiatives. The discussion revolved around enhancing collaboration between the academic and industrial sectors to foster innovation and contribute to Pakistans sustainable economic development.
KATI President Mr. Junaid Naqi Allahwala led the meeting, accompanied by Senior Vice President Ejaz Ahmed Shaikh, Vice President Syed Tariq Hussain, and other key members of the standing committee. These included Mr. Ehtesham Uddin (Academia and Government Academic Departments), Ms. Maheen Salman (Incubation and Startups R&D Cell), Mr. Zahid Hameed (Corporate Social Responsibility), and Mr. Shahid Jawed Qureshi.
The dialogue emphasized the vital role of academia in supporting the industry through research, talent development, and innovation. Dr. Shinwari and his delegation provided valuable insights into how universities can align with industrial needs to produce graduates better equipped for real-world challenges.
