Lyari’s 11-year-old student, Nazneen Bukhari, has made history by becoming the youngest female author to write and publish a psychological crime/thriller novel, surpassing the previous record held by India’s Janhki R. Menon.
A student of Al-Raheem School in Lyari, Karachi, Nazneen published her debut novelFragments of the Bleeding Sky, which is now available on Amazons Kindle Direct Publishing platform. She broke the record previously held by Janhki R. Menon, who published a thriller novel at the age of 12.
Amazons editorial team praised Nazneens work for its emotional depth and narrative maturity, calling it a testament to the power of young voices in literature.
Hailing from Lyaria culturally rich but underrepresented area of Karachi facing up to 16 hours of daily power outages, Nazneen’s remarkable achievement shines as a beacon of hope for young writers everywhere, especially girls from marginalized communities.
With her record-setting accomplishment, Nazneen has not only made Pakistan proud but also set a new benchmark for youth literature across South Asia. Her journey is just beginning.
