Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a significant meeting today with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The high-level engagement took place in Makkah al-Mukarramah and reaffirmed the deep-rooted, strategic, and fraternal relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Accompanied by a senior delegation, Prime Minister Sharif was joined by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, and Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif extended warm Eid greetings to His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan. He also lauded the Kingdoms exceptional hospitality and its commendable efforts in facilitating a safe and spiritually enriching Hajj experience for pilgrims from around the globe.
The two leaders discussed a range of regional and international issues of mutual concern. Prime Minister Sharif acknowledged Saudi Arabias proactive role during recent tensions between Pakistan and India, and emphasized Pakistans commitment to peace and stability in the region. He reiterated Islamabads policy of responsible restraint in the face of Indian aggression, stressing the importance of dialogue in achieving sustainable peace in South Asia.
A key focus of the discussions was the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Both leaders expressed grave concern over the deteriorating situation and called on the international community to fulfill its moral and legal responsibilities. They reaffirmed their support for a just and lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue based on the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
Prime Minister Sharif also voiced satisfaction over the growing momentum in bilateral cooperation across political, economic, and security domains. The leaders agreed to further enhance their strategic partnership, reflecting the shared vision of the two leaderships and the aspirations of their peoples.
Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif extended an invitation to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to visit Pakistan. The Crown Prince accepted the invitation with warmth and expressed his willingness to undertake an official visit at a mutually convenient date.
The meeting underscored the enduring strength of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations and set the stage for further deepening of ties in the months ahead.
