Malir Police conducted a search operation in Quaidabad under the supervision of senior officials to crack down on illegally residing Afghan nationals.
The operation was carried out on the special directives of SSP Malir Kashif Aftab Abbasi, with oversight by the DSP of the area and active participation from SHO Quaidabad. A large contingent of police personnel took part in the effort, conducting door-to-door searches throughout the locality.
According to police sources, the operation was specifically aimed at verifying the residency status of Afghan nationals in the area. Only those individuals were detained who failed to produce valid legal documentation, such as Proof of Registration (PoR) cards or any other government-issued residency permits.
Multiple individuals without valid documents were moved to the police station for preliminary investigation. Authorities confirmed that those found residing in the country illegally would be handed over to the relevant federal and immigration agencies, in accordance with the law. These individuals are expected to be repatriated to their home country through a legal and diplomatic process, ensuring safety and adherence to international norms.
Ensuring Public Safety and Legal Compliance
The police emphasized that the operation’s primary objective was to ensure the safety and security of the local population and to prevent illegal activities that may stem from unverified or undocumented foreign residency.
Officials stated that such operations will continue as part of broader efforts to maintain law and order in sensitive areas of Karachi and to enforce immigration laws fairly and effectively.
“This initiative is part of our commitment to uphold the rule of law and ensure a safe community for all residents,” a police spokesperson said.
The Malir Police have urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement and report any suspicious activities or unregistered foreign nationals in their neighborhoods.
