KARACHI: President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), Mr. Atif Ikram Shaikh, has appointed Mr. Ishtiaq Baig as the Advisor to the President on Trade and Investment for the African region.
Mr. Baig, who currently serves as the Honorary Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco and Chairman of the Pak-Morocco Business Council at FPCCI, brings with him extensive experience in fostering bilateral trade and investment ties.
This appointment is seen as a strategic move to strengthen Pakistans economic outreach to African markets, a region with growing opportunities for trade and investment. Mr. Baigs strong diplomatic and commercial networks are expected to enhance FPCCIs efforts in exploring untapped African economies and building long-term economic partnerships.
FPCCI leadership expressed confidence that under Mr. Baigs advisory, new avenues for cooperation between Pakistan and African nations will be identified, contributing to the diversification of Pakistans global trade portfolio.
