Karachi: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration Unit at Karachi Airport has successfully intercepted and offloaded three passengers attempting to travel abroad using fake and tampered documents. The passengers included two Bangladeshi nationals and one individual attempting to reach Myanmar on a forged visa.
Details of the Arrested Passengers
The apprehended individuals have been identified as Pine Hunt, Muhammad Yaqub Qureshi, and Muhammad Hussain. Among them, Pine Hunt was caught attempting to travel to Myanmar using a forged visa. Initial investigations revealed that his passport lacked essential security features and was found to be tampered with.
In another operation, FIA officials offloaded Muhammad Yaqub Qureshi and Muhammad Hussain, both Bangladeshi nationals, who had fraudulently acquired Pakistani identity documents, including passports. During questioning, they confessed that they were traveling to Bangladesh to reunite with their families.
Discovery of Forged Documents
Further investigation led to the discovery of Bangladeshi national identity cards in their possession, which bore different names than those on their Pakistani passports. Authorities confirmed that these individuals had entered Pakistan years ago through land routes and had managed to obtain Pakistani identity documents with the assistance of local agents.
Legal Proceedings Initiated
Following their arrest, the suspects were handed over to the FIAs Anti-Human Smuggling Circle in Karachi for further investigation and legal proceedings. FIA officials reiterated their commitment to cracking down on human trafficking networks and individuals involved in document forgery.
FIAs Warning to Citizens
The FIA has urged citizens to report any suspicious activities related to fake documents or human smuggling. The agency emphasized its zero-tolerance policy against immigration fraud and reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring secure and legal travel for all passengers.
