Karachi: A wave of sorrow has swept through the academic community following the tragic death of Mr. Iftikhar Ahmed Bhutto, a respected educator and valued member of the Faculty of Management Sciences at SZABIST University. Professor Bhutto lost his life in a fatal road accident earlier today in Karachi.
According to reports, the 35-year-old assistant professor, also affiliated with Superior College in Shah Faisal Colony as a mathematics instructor, was struck by a speeding trailer near Landhi Future Mor while commuting from his residence in Gulshan-e-Hadeed. The accident occurred near Daud Chowrangi, where the trailer driver fled the scene after the collision.
Despite suffering critical injuries and being trapped under the heavy vehicle, Professor Bhutto remained conscious long enough to identify himself and provide his home address. Unfortunately, he succumbed to excessive bleeding before he could be transported to the hospital.
Professor Iftikhar, a dedicated educator and father of four, was known for his commitment to teaching and kindness toward his students. His untimely death has left students, colleagues, and the wider academic community in deep mourning.
The Namaz-e-Janazah (funeral prayer) were held on Saturday, May 31, at 7:30 PM at Baab-e-Rehmat Masjid, Gulshan-e-Hadeed Phase 2. To honor his memory, SZABIST University has also scheduled a Quran Khwani and Dua on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 3:00 PM in Room 110, 100 Building.
