Sindh Police has established a Driving Training School in Karachi. The training facility is located within the Police Training College, Saeedabad, and aims to provide professional driving education to citizens across multiple vehicle categories.
The school will offer hands-on training for cars, motorcycles, light transport vehicles (LTVs), and heavy transport vehicles (HTVs). Citizens will be trained over an 18-hour, three-phase course that covers driving skills as well as essential traffic rules and regulations.
Training sessions will include classroom lectures, practical driving in the field, and computer-based learning. The initiative is being launched as a pilot project in Karachi, with plans to expand the model to Hyderabad, Larkana, and Khairpur, according to Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon.

IG Sindh visited the training school and was briefed by DIG Driving License about the schools infrastructure, including classrooms, a computer lab, and other facilities. Senior police officials including DIGs, SSPs, and the principal of the Driving Training School were present during the visit.
Speaking on the occasion, IGP Memon emphasized the importance of the initiative:
Road safety is our top priority. Thats why weve launched this training program to ensure every driver becomes a responsible citizen and a guardian of safety on the roads.
He added that the school will be upgraded within the year to include driving simulators, enhancing the quality of training. The school will operate under the administrative and instructional supervision of the DIG Training Branch.
Highlighting the broader goal, the IGP said:
Driving is a skill, but safe driving is a responsibility. We want every driver to not only protect themselves but also ensure the safety of others. The only way to reduce accidents is through trained drivers, and were committed to achieving that professionally.
This initiative by Sindh Police reflects a proactive approach toward public service and aims to develop a culture of safe, skilled, and law-abiding drivers across the province.
