On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah emphasized that a mother language is the foundation of identity, culture, and heritage.
In his message marking the day, the Chief Minister stated that every child has the fundamental right to receive education and express themselves in their mother tongue. He highlighted the importance of preserving linguistic diversity, noting that the youth are not only the inheritors of this diversity but also the architects of its future.
Syed Murad Ali Shah underlined that multilingual education is essential for inclusion, equality, and sustainable development. He stressed that in the digital age, ensuring adequate representation of mother languages has become a pressing necessity.
He further said that smaller languages must also be given equal opportunities in artificial intelligence systems and online platforms to prevent marginalization in the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
The Chief Minister added that linguistic diversity promotes social harmony, peace, and mutual respect among communities. He reaffirmed that the Government of Sindh remains committed to the protection, promotion, and teaching of all languages spoken across the province.
Concluding his message, he urged citizens to pledge to pass their mother languages on to future generations and preserve their value and dignity.
