A robbery incident occurred last night at a residence located on Main Khayaban-e-Ittehad Road in DHA Phase 7, sparking concerns over rising security issues in the area. The homeowner, Shaikh Manzar Alam, former Chairman of KATI, has shared details of the incident to raise awareness among fellow residents.
According to Mr. Alam, a robber entered the house through an adjacent empty plot, bypassing security measures including spiked wire fencing. The intruder gained access to the ground floor by cutting the grill of a window in an unoccupied master bedroom.
Once inside, the robber thoroughly searched the cupboards and made away with Rs. 200,000 in cash. The incident appeared well-planned, as the individual intentionally avoided CCTV cameras, even going as far as covering them with cloth to prevent recording any identifiable footage.
The robbery was discovered in the morning, after which the family immediately contacted the police. The case was promptly handled by officers from Gizri Police Station, under the supervision of DSP Defence Bakir Ahmed Khan and SHO Farrukh Sinjirani. Both officers were reported to be cooperative and efficient, conducting a thorough investigation and collecting fingerprints from the scene.
Mr. Alam emphasized the growing concern of frequent robberies in the DHA area, stating, Please be aware of these constant robberies happening in DHA every other day. No one is really safe these days.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant, improve home security measures, and report any suspicious activity to local authorities.
