Greenwich University and MDC Sign Strategic MoU to Advance Research and Development Initiatives

Greenwich University (GU) and the Management & Development Centre (MDC) have formally entered into a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aimed at promoting collaborative research, policy innovation, and capacity-building efforts across Pakistan and beyond.

The MoU, signed at a ceremony in Karachi, marks the beginning of a three-year collaboration between GU, a chartered private sector university under the Government of Sindh and MDC, a development support organization registered under Section 32 of the Companies Ordinance. The partnership will focus on joint initiatives in research, training, policy development, and multi-sectoral coordination to address critical socio-economic challenges.

Key provisions of the agreement include joint development of technical and financial proposals for national and international funding, organization of seminars, conferences, and policy dialogues, and the production of impactful research publications. Both institutions also intend to engage in diplomatic and strategic development initiatives aligned with their mutual goals.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Seema Mughal, TI, Vice Chancellor of Greenwich University, highlighted the importance of academic cooperation for sustainable development. This partnership reflects our belief in collaborative innovation, which is vital for addressing todays multifaceted development challenges, she remarked.

Dr. Muhammad Yameen, Managing Director of MDC International Pvt. Ltd., echoed the sentiment, stating, This alliance will strengthen our joint capacities to deliver cutting-edge research and provide impactful development solutions across sectors. We are proud to work with Greenwich University as a strategic ally in our shared vision for national progress.

The ceremony was also attended by prominent figures including Mr. Avais Inayat Memon, Chief Operating Officer, MDC; Mr. Hizbullah Memon, Director Information, Information Department, Government of Sindh; Dr. Rab Nawaz, Director QEC; Mr. Ali Jilani, Advisor to the Chancellor; Dr. Fatima Agha Shah, Dean of Liberal Arts; and Dr. Marium Minhas Bandeali, Focal Person GU all of whom shared insights into the potential impact of the collaboration.
