The Special Investigation Unit (SIU)/CIA Police successfully rescued a four-year-old boy named Hussain from the Saeedabad area in Karachis Keamari district during a targeted raid carried out today on the basis of secret intelligence.
According to police sources, the operation also led to the arrest of a three-member kidnapping gang, including the alleged ringleader Jameel Burhan. The gang was reportedly involved in abducting young children and deceiving families by posing as spiritual healers (fake peers) in order to extort large sums of money.
Investigators revealed that the gang had set up a fake spiritual sanctuary (“astana”) in Saeedabad, where they lured and manipulated the families of missing children. One of the accused, Mumtaz Begum alias Pirani, had already collected between PKR 80,000 to 100,000 from the family of the kidnapped child Hussain under the pretense of performing spiritual rituals to locate him.

Authorities have commended the SIU team for their swift and effective action and reassured the public of continued efforts against such criminal networks.
