Karachi: The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) held its first-ever prize draw for customers and members of the general public who verified tax invoices issued by integrated restaurants, gyms, and parlours. The initiative aims to promote a culture of tax compliance by encouraging citizens to demand and authenticate invoices featuring the SRB QR code.
The prize draw took place at SRBs head office in Karachi and garnered attention from taxpayers and stakeholders alike. The event marks a milestone in SRBs ongoing efforts to increase transparency, foster public participation, and leverage technology in revenue collection.
Speaking about the initiative, SRB officials highlighted that the prize scheme is designed to incentivize customers to play an active role in ensuring tax compliance by verifying invoices issued through Point of Sale (POS) systems integrated with the SRB database. By scanning the QR code, customers confirm that the sales tax is being properly recorded and remitted.
This prize draw is a part of our broader commitment to technological innovation and fair tax practices, an SRB spokesperson stated. It ensures a randomized and transparent selection process for rewarding those who support tax transparency.
The program is expected to continue with periodic prize draws, contributing to a more accountable and digitized tax ecosystem in Sindh. The SRB encourages more citizens to participate in the verification process and help build a stronger, more responsible tax culture.
Very good initiative
