A delegation from the All Dumper Truck Transport Owners Association, led by President Haji Liaqat Mehsud, met with Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Police Karachi to discuss critical issues faced by dumper truck operators.
Key Issues Raised by Dumper Truck Association
During the meeting, the association highlighted their concerns regarding the operating hours of Solid Waste Management dumper trucks. They urged authorities to extend these hours to ensure smoother operations.
Additionally, the delegation informed the DIG Traffic that dash cameras and trackers have already been installed in dumper trucks operating under the Solid Waste Management program.
DIG Traffic’s Response and Recommendations
The DIG Traffic Karachi emphasized the importance of avoiding overloading, citing its role in causing road accidents. He also expressed concern over violations of fast-track lanes and overspeeding by dumper drivers, terming these actions as highly dangerous.
To improve safety measures, the DIG Traffic urged truck owners to install dash cameras and trackers in all remaining vehicles as soon as possible . He assured the delegation that their unresolved issues would be addressed on a priority basis.
