In a letter to the editor, Karachi resident Mumraiz Khan criticized the authorities for failing to implement safety measures, instead focusing on providing plots to families of accident victims. He cited Lahore’s recent initiative of segregated lanes as a successful model that Karachi should adopt.
Khan further pointed out that China has already implemented separate lanes for two-wheelers with great success. He urged the Sindh government to prioritize this issue and start work on an urgent basis.
With increasing road fatalities in Karachi, experts agree that dedicated lanes could significantly improve safety for motorcyclists and other vulnerable road users.
